It seems to me that Christian web sites can serve three different purposes.

a) Kingdom message websites - these are sites that are aimed primarily at those who are outside the Christian faith. They will focus on exploring the Christian faith with others.

b) Kingdom building web sites - these are sites that promote a Christian perspective on life and seek to make the life of others better.

c) Kingdom supporting web sites - these are sites that are built solely for the use of Christians.

As soon as a web site tries to serve more than one function it starts to dilute its effectiveness. A web site needs to have a focus otherwise people are confused about how to use the information contained in a web site.

I suggest the first stage in the design of a web site must be establishing its type.
